Dear Madam or Sir,
We are writing to inform and encourage young NGOs activists to participate in our initiative. We are a group of active students from the Czech Republic, Poland, Slovakia und Hungary, who are this year’s Theodor Heuss Kolleg’s grant holders. The Theodor Heuss Kolleg is the Robert Bosch Stiftung’s programme, which supports young people who want to contribute as volunteers to shaping their environment and facilitating change in the society. Thanks to institutional support provided by Theodor Heuss Kolleg, we are now able to transcend our experience and allow active citizens to personally influence their milieus.
Therefore we are planning to organize a forum concerning the Visegrad Four. Our project is called “Visegrad Forum”. Its main objective is to supply young NGOs activists from Visegrad Countries with a possibility to make direct contacts with each other by providing them social network and organizing workshops for them. As citizens of the Visegrad Four countries and active participants of social life we know which problems are faced by our countries in everyday life and what needs to be done in order to improve political, cultural and social relations in central Europe, so that universally desired idea of middle European dialogue and integration could be put into practice. The purpose of this exchange is an elaboration of prejudices and sociocultural awareness between citizens of mentioned countries, as well as development of mutual cooperation on local levels (in such fields like culture or political science), so that they could multiply knowledge and skills gained during workshops
Workshops will take place on 07th and 14th Feb February 2011 in Budapest. It lies in very the centre of Europe, which underlines the meaning of this region for Europe’s stability and development. The main emphasis will be put on the bilateral relations and means of improving them on local level. During the first three days our matter of concern will be discussion and description of both past and current situation and problems. The second part of our workshops will be devoted to practical activities, including fundraising methods and shaping projects implemented by project’s participants.
If you are an active and committed citizen join our project. We are waiting for people like you! Recruitment process will start on 19th of January 2011.
We are waiting for your commitment!
Yours faithfully,
Visegrad Project Team
